How to Play
With the Labouchere Roulette System, the player begins with a line of numbers; the line of 1-1-2-3 is a good example with casino roulette. The player would add together the first and last numbers in the line to create the wager. In this particular instance the $1.00 and the $3.00 would be added together, totaling $4.00. If the player wins the bet, the first and last numbers in the line--or the one and the three--are then cancelled, and the remaining numbers are added to get the next bet total. In this example, $1.00 and $2.00 would be added together to produce $3.00.
Losing the Bet
If the bet is won for a second consecutive time, the player simply begins again with another line. Please note that following two straight wins, the profit made is equal to the sum of the numbers in the line, and this is the case for any line. If the first bet is lost, however, the process is different. When a player loses, he takes the amount that he bet on the loss and adds it to the line. So a line of 1-1-2-3 would become 1-1-2-3-4, and the next bet would require that one and four be added together, which produces a $5.00 bet.
Making a Profit
The player would then do the same thing if he lost again, and $1.00 + $5.00 = $6.00. The line is not cleared if the player loses the bet again and play at roulette tournaments. Although this looks like chasing after losses, using the Labouchere Roulette System gives players the opportunity to overcome the fact that the outside bets provide a slight disadvantage. It might be surprising to learn that a player can have a profit with the Labouchere even if he lost on more occasions than he won.
Playing roulette with the Labouchere should get easier after a while, although the math involved may throw some people.
